Responsibilities:
- Prepare the procedure room and sterile field for surgical procedures, including setting up sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment.
- Anticipate the equipment required for each procedure and ensure the equipment is properly set up and maintained.
- Operate medical equipment and maintain sterile instruments throughout the procedure.
- Function in multiple roles within the procedure team, including scrub, circulator, and documenter/monitor.
- Assist with Right and Left Heart Hemodynamics, Cardiac Interventions (CTO PCI), Pericardiocentesis, and Vascular Interventions (RotoPro, LVADs, AngioVac, FlowTriever).
- Assist with Structural Heart procedures such as TAVR, MitraClip, Watchman, CardioMEMS, PFO/ASD/VSD closures, and Valvuloplasty.
- Perform critical care procedures including ECMO, Impella, IABP, and ProtekDuo.
- Ensure excellent organizational skills to maintain workflow and support procedural efficiency.
- Maintain professional conduct and adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) through CCI, or ARRT certification preferred.
- Experience in invasive cardiac procedures, including Right Heart and Left Heart Hemodynamics, CTO PCI, Pericardiocentesis, and Vascular Interventions.
- Required experience with Mechanical Circulatory Support procedures (ECMO, Impella, IABP, ProtekDuo).
- Experience in Structural Heart procedures (TAVR, MitraClip, Watchman, CardioMEMS, PFO/ASD/VSD closure).
- Critical care or cardiac experience required.
- Radiologic Technologist (RT) or must meet NYS requirements to be grandfathered into Public Health Law 2824.
